Vending and Cashless Services
For the past 7 years, Vianet has provided an end-to-end telemetry system which includes the hardware required to extract audit data from vending machines and transmit it via GPRS to the Vianet host, and the application software which customers use to run their vending business. A new cashless system is available for the catering industry.

Vianet provides a range of wireless transaction services designed to release Chip & PIN card transactions from the store and enable payment transactions everywhere there is GPRS/3G coverage.
The Solution
Vianet required Scotland Online to provide a secure, always on, fully managed infrastructure to host their client services to be delivered over multiple network providers.
The Scotland Online solution incorporated networking design, Infrastructure deployment and Support delivered over multiple load balanced front end web servers and Oracle 10g database servers.
Mike McHale, Account Manager at Scotland Online said “Vianet required the services of an organisation that could provide not only their high end hosting requirements but also of one who could work with and deliver complicated networking solutions, crucial for the delivery of their client services. Scotland Online collaborated with their technical teams and delivered their infrastructure requirements on time and within budget.”
Paul Green, Director at Vianet said “Vianet chose Scotland Online because it provides state-of-the-art hosting services with greater bandwidth and response times that we could not achieve in-house.”
“The services are secure, scalable and multiple back-up systems ensure complete reliability. First, second and third level 24 hour technical support is provided that we could not provide in-house.”
“Our customers also have the option of hosting their equipment and applications with a direct link to Vianet to achieve maximum data rates and robustness. We also looked at other hosting organisations but Scotland online had the dual advantage of being both economically advantageous and local to our technical team. Following the successful hosting for Vianet’s vending business we have recently chosen Scotland Online to host our M2M activities.”
