Fault Tolerance
Due to the explosion of the E-Market and online transactions, the high availability of IT systems has become extremely important in ensuring continual operation, thus avoiding loss of revenue which is caused by system down time. A high availability system is characterised by an operational time above 99%. However, the NEC Fault Tolerance server goes beyond this idea of high availability by entering into the era of ‘continuous availability’. These servers have been created to guarantee an availability of 99.999%. This is the equivalent of 5 minutes of unplanned interruption each year.
